I might have a real job soon! It's actually at the company I'm temping at now. And I'd get to travel!! That's the main thing, really. The pay is pretty low. I don't even know about benefits yet, so I won't get too excited. But to travel...woo! Yeah!

I got a card today from my sister-in-law's father. He said that the last check Jennifer's mom ever wrote was to me for my fundraising. It's just so strange to know that. And ironic, considering it was a blood disease that killed her. I decided I'm going to make up satin ribbons with the names of the people I'm running in honor of or in memory of. But it's just so meaningless, so little. What could I possibly do that would do justice to these people? Not a silly satin ribbon. Sigh.

Had dinner with the TNT people last night. I'm a little irritated that I'm going to have to do a 16 mile run alone, the morning of Nick and Annie's wedding. Not that it's then, but that no one is willing to compromise when I need to run on a certain day. Hmm. Well, whatever. Eight long boring laps of Lafreniere Park. Won't kill me.

14 miles tomorrow at LSU, with Chris. And Krispy Kreme afterwards!

Poop. Today got my rejection letter from Gambit. Ah well.

Went to a wedding of one of George's high school friends today. Was kind of boring. But decent people-watching. Some of the outfits were horrendous, and I'm not talking about the bridemaids (only.)

Exciting news...Annie asked Polly and me to be her bridemaids! And there will definitely be no ugly dresses involved. It will be very low-key, but I'm excited about it. Honored.

Didn't work out yesterday; went by Sarah's office to pick up a big load of stuff left over from UKtoYou to use at the silent auction. Score! Lots of great stuff, should make tons of money. (Plus, as a bonus, it's all British-themed, and the event is at the pub...perfect!)

Terry and I are going to work out tonight, then tomorrow's the group run. Woo!

Brief workout last night. One last chance to lose 40 pounds before my 10 year reunion. Ha! Didn't work. Not after a mile on the treadmill, 10 minutes on the bike (while reading InStyle) and 15 minutes of strength training. Ah well, I did what I could...

Am very excited, couldn't sleep last night.

Went to the gym yesterday after work. Did not-quite two miles on the treadmill in 25 minutes. Well, I ran the first mile, then walked the second, but on "hills" on the treadmill. Increased the incline by .5% every thirty seconds. Was quite difficult, really, at 4-5.5%. But DC isn't flat, so I'm going to have to get my hills in somehow. Now I just have to try running them.

Today I'm planning on attempting five miles. No hills or anything. I know I can do five miles, it's more like can I take the treadmill for that long? Especially since I don't have a radio or anything. Just the closed-captioning on the TVs to keep me occupied. Maybe I need to get a magazine before I go. That might make it more bearable.

Am getting a haircut tomorrow morning in Baton Rouge. I can't believe I'll make a 150 mile round trip to get a haircut.
